About SREDA Books

Hello!

My name is Lana Frolova, and I am opening a small family-owned bookstore, SREDA Books, in the very heart of old Larnaca.

The road to this point has been a long one: I began as a children’s book author, then became a literary editor, later a managing editor, and a mentor for aspiring writers. And throughout all these years, I carried a dream — to create my own book space. Now, this dream is becoming a reality.

SREDA Books is not just a place where you buy a book and leave. My dream is to create a cozy space where people of all ages and cultures can meet, read, discuss books, and take part in workshops and book clubs. I want both adults and children to feel part of a community united by a love of reading and books.

Our bookstore will be multilingual. You will find books in English, Greek, Russian, Ukrainian, French, Italian, Arabic, Chinese, and other languages. I believe this will make SREDA Books open to people from all over the world.

Why “SREDA”? This word carries several meanings. In Russian, it means both Wednesday and environment/atmosphere. At the same time, it is also an acronym of my family:
S — Svetlana (or Lana, that’s me),
R — Roman, my son,
E — Evgeniia, my daughter,
D — Dmitrii, my husband,
A — Athos, our golden retriever.

I love Cyprus. Over the past few years it has become our home, and I hope that SREDA Books will become part of it too: a warm, vibrant, and creative place. A place you will want to return to again and again.

With love,

Lana Frolova
